Fishing Reports

4th October.  Rainbow trout fisheries back in great form and excellent autumn sport in prospect - weather permitting. Closed season now for brown trout. Coarse waters still have a few weeks left in them and the pike fisheries are coming back into form. Just watch the weather and wait for those better windows.

Bigland Trout Fishery

192 x 120 192x106 25th September. Sport has improved grealy following recent stockings with consistent activity throughour the day. Fish are well dispersed. Stocking continues on a regular basis through October so expect good sport to continue as long as conditions remain favourable.

Latest Catch Return

Ghyll Head

ghyll_head25th September. Excellent sport at Ghyll Head now that fresh stock has given things a real boost. Plenty of surface activity with fish 'smutting' on calmer days. Lots of trout up in the shallows as usual at this time of year. Expect top quality sport right through the autumn months with a higher proportion of bigger fish in the mix

High Newton

high_newton25th September. Great fishing now at High Newton - providing you watch the weather!  The next couple of months invariably provide excellent surface sport although anglers must be prepared to fish small flies and fine leaders to fish that will usually be taking 'smuts'. Some bigger fish in the mix and a high average size in the stockings through October.

Ratherheath Tarn

ratherheath25th September. Ratherheath has continued to fish well over the last few weeks with a constant stream of carp in the mid teens and more. Remember to take note of the closed days.
